They're so cute when they're brand new and tiny....

Salman - newborn (next to my sister in law's ugly doll - for size comparison)

My little Guy when he was 1 1/2 months old

I love the little hands
the tiny feet
the wispy hair
the sweet breath
of babies

the way they turn their head and open their mouths when you stroke their cheeks
the way they grunt and squirm when you hold them to your shoulder...

I miss having a baby

I miss having a baby, too, until I start thinking about all the sleepless nights, the baby crying nonstop (and parent not having a clue why), and later, the tantrums, etc. heh I end up talking myself out of wanting another by thinking realistically. What I tell people is that I'd LOVE to go back and visit that time in my life (when I had babies) but I'm not so sure I would want to have more children.

ooohhhh ahhhhhh babbbeeeeee sigh..... dont you just love the wonderful smell they have after they have had a bath?

Whenever I get broody my dodi threatens to take me to see my brother... oddly the feeling vanishes in seconds... the longest visit I lasted was 2 minutes (he's got four of the little loves)

eyes serene - welcome
I know there are down sides to having a baby. I wouldn't want one unless I had a loving husband who would help take care of him / her. My little on in the picture was premature - he was so so tiny and so so active it was incredibly cute, I guess what I miss is that time when he was tiny little thing.

they smell good most of the time - even their poop (when they are small and being breastfed) doesn't smell that bad. I like having a tiny hand hold my one finger....

So sweet. So tiny! I always envied mothers who had sweet little babies. Mine were beasts! They were still awesome cuddlers, though!

I recently looked through an old Picassa album and got all weepy, wanting another baby. Then my 4 year old came into the room and was utterly fresh and belligerent. The moment passed.

Misfit - my little sisters were big beasts so I thought for sure I would have beasts too - but both of mine were born early. The older one was 1 month early and the younger one was 2 months early. He weighed only 1.39 Kgs at birth (3 lbs) he was 5lbs when we brought him home from the hospital.
The older one was really good used to sleep until noon and be quiet as a mouse. The younger one only slept 6 hours at night :S

Puca, God willing you will have one soon. I know I am lucky to have mine. I try to remind myself of that when I am feeling sorry for myself.

That baby smell is so sweet:) It's like throw up and lavender, haha, but it's so delicious!

Mashallah they are so handsome and sweet. I miss the smell of baby powder and Johnson and Johnson shampoo...just everything.

It is nice to sleep again Desert, but then again, those months of no sleep were so worth it, I'd do it all over again if I could.

Oh sweetie, there is still time for both of us inshallah. Love you so much.

Thanks for your message Lisa. I think you have more time than I do - I will be 38 in October so I don't know if I will ever have that chance again, but I would love to - but not unless the father of the child is a loving and supportive man. I don't want to do it all alone again.
